UV light can cause the hard hat shell to become brittle. When exposed to UV light outdoors, 3M(TM) UVicator(TM) turns from red to white, indicating that the hard hat protection may be compromised and should be replaced. Electrical rated options Non-vented hard hat versions meet the ANSI Z89.1 Class G and E for protection against electrical contact. Vented hard hat versions meet the ANSI Z89.1 Class C for non-electrical applications. Vents built into the hard hat help release heat buildup and allow air circulation to enhance the comfort of the worker. Customizable options For added versatility, the hard hat features accessory slots to accommodate 3M’s cap mounted ear-muffs, headgear, faceshields, and welding helmets (all sold separately).
